This lesson will explain the functionality of the timer in AgileCase and how to use it to create time entries.

Opening the timer

The timer allows you to create time entries as you work in AgileCase. The timer can be accessed at any time by clicking the clock button at the end of the main toolbar.

The time keeping window

This will open the time keeping window. This will list all of the time entries made on the system and allows you to start a timer. To start a timer, click "Start New Timer".

Now your new timer will start from the moment it is opened.

If a timer is opened on a case page then that case will be automatically populated, if it is opened elsewhere then a case must be selected. It is also possible to configure the description and billing details of the time entry at this point.

Once you are finished click" Save Time" this will close the window and save the entry but the timer will continue to run in the background.

Stopping a timer

When a timer is running you can view it in the timekeeping window.

To stop a timer click the pause button. Timers can be started and stopped at any time from this page.

Each timer will be recorded in the relevant cases "Time" tab as a time entry. This allows users to start a timer when they begin work and stop it when they finish in order to accurately keep track of the hours worked by each user.
