    What's new in AgileCase 2.01?

The bulk of this latest release contains changes in the background to help speed up future development and provide a foundation for more existing features we have planned around Integrations, Flexibility and AI. However there are still some long awaited new features added.

Here is a list of the most important changes made in this release:

Office 365 + Outlook Email Integration BETA New

We now have full Office 365 Email integration (which includes Outlook for those who do not have a Office 365 subscription).

What this means for users is that rather than having to work out complex server settings for SMTP they can now simply and securely connect their Outlook Online email with a few clicks.

It also means that email sent using this connection will appear in your Outlook Sent Items exactly as if you had sent the email using Outlook. Any company-wide email settings such as group signature should also be applied to outgoing emails.

You can read full instructions on making use of this feature in the draft Documentation: Email Settings - Connecting your email account to AgileCase

We recommend all users who previously configured Office 365 using SMTP settings to switch to using the dedicated Office 365 Connection approach.

Support for Google Workspace will be coming soon once we have completed some approvals with Google.

Support for other Office 365 products such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint Online is nearing the end of development and just waiting on some (unfortunately -like ) approval processes being completed.

Drag and Drop Uploading of Files into Docs and Comms new

You can now drag and drop files from you desktop into the Docs and Comms section to quickly upload them to a Case.

Note: We will be extending this feature soon so you can Drag and Drop from any screen on the case and also upload multiple files at a time.

Involved User & Related Work Item (i.e. Case, Contact) interaction with New Forms improved IMPROVEMENT

When Involved Users or Related Cases/Contacts setting were updated for a Work Type these settings were not automatically changed on the “New Case” screen.

For example if removing a “mandatory” Contact which must be added when a new Work Item of a specific type is created from the Relationships screen this change was not automatically reflected on the “New” form for that Work Type. Instead users had to also manually change the “New” screen.

The same was true of Involved User options for Work Types.

Changes to Relationships are now automatically synchronised to the “New” forms, unless we detect the user has intentionally removed the default “Involved User” and “Related Contact” sections from the form.

Relationships are a powerful feature of AgileCase and we will continue to make improvements to Relationships to make them easier to understand and take advantage of in future releases.

Email Address between User and User Contact IMPROVEMENT

Every User is also represented on the system with a Contact which allows you to store and use phone, addresses and any type of custom information against a User just like you would for any other Work Item on the system. For example you could create a custom field against a User Contact to store their nickname and then include that nickname field on Document or Email Templates.

We now synchronise changes made to the users Login and configured Email Address settings so they reflect what the user is using. You can still manually change these settings in which case your own settings take effect and we will no longer synchronise changes to the User Contact.

Improvements to Work Item Searching from Dropdowns BUGFIX

In some places, such as New Case form, where you use a Dropdown to Search for Contacts or other Cases not all active cases were being returned or the order of results meant that closer matches to the search term were a long way down the list of results making it impossible to select them.

This behaviour has been improved so that you should always find the result you are looking for in Search Dropdowns.

Some other visual improvements has been made as well as consistency of behaviour across the different system areas where Work Item Search Dropdowns are used.

    Minor Improvements minor

    • Global Search - results now ordered based on importance - i.e. a Name match for "Smith" will show higher in results than a Address match for "Smith". Two matches for the same Work Item are shown just as a single result.

    • Legl Integration - improvement to fault tolerance

    • Audit Log - date format of Audit log messages will now match Tenant regional settings format.

    • Email Connector - new contacts will no longer be created for every Incoming Email

    • Work Screen Filters - improved filtering of Open/In Progress/Closed Workflow states and added an "Include Archived" checkbox which defaults to false.

    What's Next?
