12.1 Tasks

This lesson will describe the functionality of the "Tasks" tab on the main toolbar and explain the importance of tasks in AgileCase.

The "Tasks" tab

The "Tasks" tab on the toolbar displays all of that tasks that you have pending on your system. You can view all tasks regardless of case from this page and can carry out related actions:

  1. The "Add Task" button allows you to add a new task to your schedule, this lesson details how to go about creating a task.
  2. The sorting button allows you to sort the tasks on this page by several criteria: when the task is due, whether it is complete or incomplete and who it is assigned to. This will allow you to quickly find particular types of task.
  3. The "Labels" option allows you to edit tasks or mark them as complete using the green button. You can also edit and delete tasks using the dropdown menu. In addition, this icon will turn red when a task is overdue, giving you a clear visual cue that a task needs urgent attention.

Why use tasks?

Tasks allow you to keep a clear record of who is assigned to do what.

The need to sign them off as complete also allows you to track the overall progress of each case as a glance at the "Tasks" tab will show you what is still to be done.

Tasks are also displayed on your calendar, allowing you to view the overall workload for your business at a glance.

These features make tasks an effective way to plan and track the progress of your work.
