3.9 Importing Contact Data to AgileCase


This lesson will cover importing your contact data into AgileCase using our template upload feature.

Why import data?

 

the data import feature allows you to quickly migrate a large volume of data to AgileCase.

Many of our users will be migrating from other systems and will already have an established base of clients and contacts.

Importing your data provides you with an easy to use spreadsheet that can be quickly filled out then uploaded to AgileCase. At which point the data will be merged in to your "Contacts" section, creating a large volume of contacts in very little time.

Go to the "Data Import" page

 

to access the data import feature, click "Data Import" under "User Admin" on the settings menu.

Download the template

 

To import your data you must download the template spreadsheet. Do do this click the "Download Template" button

Download the file

 

Download the file as prompted then open the spreadsheet.

Enable editing


 

Before you can enter data in the spreadsheet you may need to enable editing. To do this click the "Enable Editing" button on the prompt.

Enter your data

 

Once the spreadsheet is open, fill in the fields with the relevant data. The first field deals with contact types and uses a simple binary 0 to represent a person and 1 to represent a company.

 

 

You can then continue to fill out contact details.

The client code is a unique identifier for your contact that will be automatically generated by AgileCase if left blank.

you do not need to fill out every field in order for the template to work

Add the document

 

once you have finished filling in the template, click "Add document" on the data import page to select a document for upload.

Select the template

 

Select the filled out template.

Open the document

 

Click open to confirm your selection.

Upload the document

 

Once you have selected the template click "Upload" to being uploading your contacts to AgileCase.

Upload complete

 

If the upload is successful you will receive a message informing you that it is complete. If you have any problems uploading templates to the system, please contact us on support@agilecase.com

Your contacts are now uploaded

 

After a successful upload, your contacts will now be integrated in to your AgileCase system under the "Contacts" tab.
